Thanks for the GDT Alta!
Generally, as far as it’s affect on the season, I agree that these games don’t matter much, at all.
I will say though, that behind the scenes, there are quite a few individual player situations, that can garner a little interest.
Seeing Ovi, Wilson, Backy, Hagelin, Gudas, and a few other vets, play with some noticible good energy and motivation, in some personally, and relatively, meaningless games to them, is pretty cool.
Our backup goalies getting some exposure, for the fans to judge, not only how each of them plays, but it also sets up some natural comparison, to get an early feel of how the Caps may fare, without Holtby. Granted, it’s not much of a look, but better than no look at all. It’s also a possibility that we may have to deal with, as well! How much of a possibility, no one knows?
For me, another one is closely watching Kuzy! I am honestly hoping for him, and the Caps, that he turns it around, whatever the issue is, or was! BUT, DAMN!
I have to say, though, that again, he had ANOTHER, lame game! For any other Caps skater, I would say, no worries... it’s early... he’s rusty... etc.
For Kuzy, however, IMHO, if there’s ANYBODY, in an NHL uniform, that has good reason, to show IMMEDIATELY, AND, from the git-go, for himself, his family, his fellow players, management, and the FANS, that he is SERIOUS, about turning things around....IT IS HIM!!!
I believe he possesses a level of talent, so good, that he can damn near turn it on at will!! IF HE SO CHOOSES!
The fact that he hasn’t taken advantage of trying to look REAL good, early on, when preseason games are chock full of inexperienced, young, hopefuls, many of whom, Kuzy can outmaneuver, on his WORST days, is just sad to me! It looks too much like good fruit, just starting to rot!!
Right now, other than #92, I’m ok with what I’ve seen, so far, with the Caps! (Ok, well, I’m fibbing a bit, here. Carlson hasn’t caused my eyes to open much either)! 🤣 Damn ‘lude-head just exudes ATTENTIVENESS, doesn’t he?? BWAHAHA🤣😂🤣
AND....WE’RE OFF!!!!! CAPS 2019, BABY!!!

It's early yet, and pretty meaningless, but I've been pretty happy with the apparent level of effort and talent shown so far.
Some of the younger guys and new guys have really shined. Although, I'm sure the younger guys are all destined for Hershey. Phino and O'Brien have looked good, but is there room for them?
Some of the Vets - effort has looked good, which is nice to see.
I'm curious what happens to Stephenson. I just don't see the team having Cap room for him. Has he even played?
Willy....Jesus! That dude is ready to play! I excited to see him this year. I really hope he has a truly dominant season. I see our future captain in this guy.
Panik scores, Gudas scores, the other dude (sorry...Hathaway) had some hits. Making these pickups look pretty good early. We shall see, but honestly I like Gudas for this team and Panik as well. We needed some grit, and if Panik gets 20G on the season, I'd call that an all out success.
