I like this, I think he’s got a lot to teach, and maybe this could parlay into a coaching position....

Knowledge is knowing that the Tomato is a fruit; Wisdom is knowing that you shouldn't include it in a Fruit Salad; Philosophy is wondering if a Bloody Mary counts as smoothie

Yeah, no surprise.   Probably a “handshake” part of his low cap hit.

But, hey he’ll be a good asset to the front office

I applaud this as well.

I think Orpik helped this team more than most realize.  You can't place a value on what a guy like that brought to the culture of the locker room (especially ours) and to what he brings to the whole organization. You need a good solid guy who stands on the success of hard work, effort, and dedication (not God gifted talent) to make a successful career based on those things.  I'll be surprised if he doesn't coach someday, but maybe not.

Anyway, glad to have him.  I think it reflects well on the organization to reward him with a position that suits him, and will ultimately strengthen the team with his impact on young players.
FFS - HIT HIM!!!
