What an absolute scumbag thing to say.

I think "on the hook" for still paying the guys and it counting against the cap are two different things when the guy goes on IR permanently,

This is the closet thing to a clear explanation I could find

“LTIR is a very complicated aspect of the NHL operations and the vast majority of details are not specified in the CBA.[/size]When a player is placed on LTIR, their cap hit remains on the teams cap payroll and it continues to count as it always did. It . . .”

Course it goes on to attempt to explain one of the many bumbles of The Bettman Era

What about traded, and then put out/injured?  That way get something and another team gets the cap it? 🤣🤣🤣

In all seriousness, with The Caps salary mess, and lack of organizational depth, Carlson will certainly need to continue to average over 20min a game for the foreseeable future.  This amount of time will contribute to wear and tear, longer healing, and possibly of major injury.   Why I only joke about him being hurt, not if, but when he gets a big injury . . . we are fucked
