I was kind of lucky. I missed 90% of the 3rd period because my idiot Son told us the cat got away outside. I spent much of the period looking at the security cameras and determined that after the cat ran off while my son sat out front he immediately retrieved him and it appeared he put him in the house. He insisted that he did not and that he only put him on the porch. I found no sign of the cat going out again, but had he slipped by close to the house I could have missed it on the cameras. Then I went outside running around the neighborhood with a brilliant flashlight (torch for Lil) until I got a call from my son that he found the cat inside just like I told him 60 seconds after I first looked at the security cameras.

He did the same shit this morning at 6am and woke us up to go out and look for the cat. Why are young people so damned stupid these days.

I don't think he really wanted him, somehow TR was seems as an answer to go. Like Trotz is the past, on his resume wasn't any playoff success, more making mediocre teams capable fight for playoff spots.

Well Folks, there you have it!


Mostly a sad, half-effort, which was supposed to be “the response”, to game 3!


To me, it has long become obvious, that this teams WILL, whether all skaters play with great effort, for nearly 60 minutes....OR.....whether this teams WILL, where we see the sluggish, lethargic, efforts, like in games 3, and 4 tonite,  IS DECIDED, solely and totally, by the players!!!


THEY DICTATE the situation, and are obviously, unafraid and not worried about the consequences!!
Rierden is absolutely INNOCUOUS, in this matter!!


These boys KNOW IT, and so does Rierden, and he spends A LOT of time in interviews, attempting to make this HUGE ISSUE, appear to be several different issues, by using different expressions, calling it different names, and such, so as to blur the DIRECT FOCUS on it!! (Which allows him to escape some of the maligned judgement of how he’s doing in his job)!!


Imagine how the players must view Rierden, privately, when they witness him protecting and covering for their asses, when they “have a bad effort”, or not having the “right commitment level”, for any given game!! He says this in the public eye MEDIA!!


The players must be like, “no problem, if we slack tonite. Coach has our back”!!


WHAT A FRICKIN’ LEADER, this guy is!! Team runs all over your pussy ass!!
THEN....we see it!!....When the boys are good and ready, and they “feel like it”, they actually play hard, kick some opponent ASS, and ALL IS GOOD, in Capitalville again!!


We are a fortunate city, that actually has a team that CAN DECIDE they want to turn it on and BEAT damn near anybody!!
And when they don’t turn it on, they KNOW IT, and we fans are simply left FUCKED at the end of the game, for the privilege of being a Caps fan!!


Yes, I still tolerate it, even as it goes on, right in front of my eyes, because it still feels AWESOME, when we put together a great effort and WIN!!


But I also know and understand the WHOLE PRODUCT, and how the players CHEAPEN and take for granted, our emotional bank!! Add a limp-dicked coach into the recipe, and you suddenly find yourself dining in front of the all comprehensive CAPITALS buffet!!


This is why I’ll STILL be a happy fan, next year, to be sure, watching from my wonderful couch, at home, saving $10K, which, by the way, I say to Ted, Todd, and the boys, is sufficient compensation, not for my emotional bank, but for MY ACTUAL BANK!!!

Quite frankly, they're done. Even if they somehow get lucky and win this series, they then face the well rested Islanders sans Oshie. My opinion is that the Canes take the next two and that's a wrap.

I guess it's some sort of methodical adjustment, but all these line shuffles have done nothing but put a hobble on our offense.. We saw glimpses of how "responsible" they could be, playing with their usual mates, but as soon as the playoffs start Reirden moves Haglin up, brings in Stephenson, swaps Oshie and Wilson, Moves Burt up, Vrana down, Jensen up, Djoos up/down/out... Just a bunch of deck chair rearranging when they didn't really need one, imo.. You let em sink or swim for 82 games, why fuck with it now?    Oh, and I read how "fired up" he was at the press conference talking about Oshie.. (Then I "saw" it)   If that's "Fired up"?? No wonder the team looks like a flat tire..

It’s the inconsistency of it that really sucks.  Sometimes it’s a game, sometimes it’s 10, sometimes it’s none.


This is why I hate the NHL Supplemental Discipline sideshow.  If they through Womams League rule and the Eurotrash back over the pond so it’s a MANS game again, this shit wouldn’t happen,  If it did, suspensions for hits would  be because their jaw was wired shut.

Sucks that there is no supplemental.  If they REALLY want to change it, then IF a player is injured on what is deemed "an illegal hit", then there should be a mandatory suspension.  Leave the random wheel of justice out of it.


I mean, its a rough sport and guys are going to suffer injury, but IF it is from a truly illegal hit and not incidental contact, then make it an automatic suspension when guys are actually injured (with a legit injury)


Caps have enough "lack of effort" issues without losing Oshie. 


I just don't think the Caps have it this year.  I expected (and still hope) they get by Carolina, but not enough clicking and falling into place for a real run IMO.

Watching Oshie leave, I'd say either shoulder or collarbone.  Wrist is possible but I didn't see him jam it on the replay.  Doesn't really matter, he's done.   Caps may be done by Monday if they don't get some damn urgency.
