Jakub Vrana bumped up to second line for Game Three

Headline photo: NBC Sports Washington

After winning the first two games of the series, the Washington Capitals are in Raleigh for Game Three against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Capitals debuted one change to their lines after Alex Ovechkin brought back the hot lap.

Jakub Vrana has been bumped up to the second line while Carl Hagelin will skate on the team’s third.

Vrana started the series on the third line, but has no points and only two shots through two games while Hagelin is point-less and has three shots.

The Capitals can’t match up lines as the visiting team tonight with the Hurricanes getting the last change before faceoffs, so that might be playing into head coach Todd Reirden’s thinking as well.

KitFisto:
No chance tonight.

I Like this prediction!
Let’s GO CAPS!

Beaglefan2:

So how come Dougie Hamilton doesn't get a game suspension for the flagrant elbow to Kuzy's head?  First of all, if the guy goes by Dougie at this point in his life, he should be banned from the league - but seriously, that was definitely a suspendable hit.

Of course there will be the Wilson comparisons and how Willy would have gotten 3 or 4 games, but my theory is that it is a revenue thing.  They need this series to go at least 6 games.

I hear Vrana is on the second line tonight
