And note that the cupcake part of the schedule (if there is any such thing in the NHL) is over.  The last 14 games are murderous.  As much as the Caps look to be in decent shape at this point, nothing is a given.

They've got a 10 point lead on Columbus.. It'd take coach firing type epic loss, coupled with towering inferno hot streak by CBJ, to miss the dance now..

While it would de difficult for them to miss the playoffs, the worrisome thing is matchups.  A hot CBJ, who despite never winning a playoff series, would be an absolute poison pill for us in the first round.   


The biggest thing to pay attention to is seeding and to hope NYI, Boston, TBL, and CBJ/hot 8th seed team wear each other out before we play em.
