Foot off the pedal a tad in the last half of that period.  Treading water a bit.  At this point, we don't need to go all out, but some sustained pressure would be usefull.  This sitting back stuff is what get's us in to trouble and the laziness and sloppiness becomes okay again.  IT@S NOT OKAY.
