It annoys the piss out of me, but interestingly enough there's supposedly research that supports using it (i.e. slingshot leads to more zone time/more goals or something like that). Either way it feels so predictable and all the extra speed in the world won't help if you insist on stick handling through all 4 PKers rather than going around them.

More zone time maybe but useless zone time. You miss the pass, delay deep entry, give the goalie more time.
It's just stupid as we execute it.
