Say what you want about Wilson's retribution, but we could have really used him down the stretch in last night's game protecting the lead.
This is the fine line Wilson has to walk now. He is SO valuable when he is on the ice that losing him for an extended period really hurts the team's chances. I wonder if he had let up on Cole a little earlier if he could have avoided the misconduct penalty and been around for the end of regulation. Of course, as it turned out, even if that had happened the Avs still would have scored before he left the box.

Pretty much my worries I posted (from the other thread)....
I was a little surprised the linesmen didn't jump in a little sooner. Willie got in some really good uppercuts and the guy was taking a beating. He was clearly trying to just turtle...these days they usually jump in to try and stop it.[/size]Good for Willie. That's what a teammate is supposed to do. Probably won't help his rep with the league or other fans but Willy is bolstering his position of heart and soul of this team.I'll take the trade off (especially late in a game) of him getting tossed to "do what is right" for his team. Although, as he was being escorted off, I was worried about us finishing the game without him.
