CAPS WIN!!

Thought they played well.  Big lull in second period, but mostly a better game.

Ovi was on
Oshie was on
Kuzy was on
Vranna was on  :piranha:
Wilson....was wilson  :hearts:

Holtz was ON FUCKING FIRE  :goalie:

Caps win.

It's weird.  It's like when our best players are our best players...we Win

Also - here's another weird observation.  Games where we consistently crash the net....we score more goals (last night, Calgary)
Someone should take note of this and tell the Caps coaching staff and players - it could make a difference  :P

Jay Beagle: Holts, he stood on his head. We did push. We pushed hard in the second. Holts does what he does. He stands on his head. He robbed me there, he said sorry. He said if he knew it was me, he would have let it in. Talk is cheap, Holts

 :lmao:

That's funny.  I was hoping Beags would get one last night....(one too few)

Agreed.  That was interference all the way.

I wish the NHL would actually do something to set defined parameters for the Refs to follow so we could have a little more consistency with the goalie interference.  Although, it has seemed better this year - or not better, but FEWER circumstances of these calls this year - seems that way anyway.

Same for the stupid slashing and hooking penalties.  These are out of control.

I thought Oshie had one of his better games tonight.  I really, really like TJ, but he frustrates and annoys the hell out of me sometimes.  It almost seems like he loses confidence easily.
Congrats to Ovi!  He's now the most point scoring Russian ever, just overtaking Federov.

Our D wasn't as bad as they have been for some time.  Which isn't saying a whole hell of a lot, let's face it.......  but still.

WE WON!
Even if it was against the Kanucks, who played yesterday and are on the road and we only just beat them and they no longer have the Sedin's.
It was great to see Beagle again and that was a lovely moment when Ovi went over and gave him a hug.
It was really good that we crashed and attacked the net and got rewarded for it.  Biscuit anyone?

I agree  :uh-huh:

I was just saying...LAST game I think, that I prefer Ziggy over Djoos, but last night Ziggy looked exposed.  Although, I don't think Juice is the answer.  He has better sense and positioning, but he simply is not big enough - not physical enough to be a bonafide NHL D man.  Ziggy may NOT be ready, but I think he will get there with some good coaching and experience.  He certainly has the size and he seems quick enough - he just gets caught because his game isn't quite there yet.  Not sure what we can do.  Juice aint it, Bowey is in the doghouse, and we sure as hell can't afford the price tag of a real D man.

I think our D looked better last night - alot of that is team D, but Nisky and Orlov looked better for a change.  Orlov, for the most part has been trying to get his own Volcano this year.

Nice to see the team play with some effort and nice to see Holtz rewarded with a win.  He had some game savers last night - glad they weren't wasted.

I was hoping these young Dmen would be ready by the end of this season to stand on their own. I'm not really surprised they aren't. Dmen always seem to take another year or two to become NHL ready. So I'm hoping GMGM has the sense to offer Orpik another 1 at $1M and Orpik accepts. Because it's becoming apparent GMGM won't go out and get a quality Dman for a 3-4 year contract.
