Christian Djoos participates in Capitals optional skate, wears non-contact jersey

Headline photo: @Capitals

During the Capitals optional skate Tuesday morning ahead of their game against the San Jose Sharks, defenseman Christian Djoos, who is recovering from surgery after suffering from compartment syndrome, took to the ice in a light blue, non-contact jersey.

Last week, Djoos was on the ice before the team practiced, so the non-contact jersey suggests Djoos could be back to fully participating in practice and playing with the team soon.

Since Djoos went down with the injury against the Detroit Red Wings on December 11, he’s missed 18 games.

In his absence, the third pairing on defense has mostly consisted of a rotation between Brooks Orpik, Madison Bowey, and Jonas Siegenthaler, testing the defensive depth of the reigning Stanley Cup champs.

In addition to Djoos’s progress, Brooks Orpik participated in Tuesday’s skate after using yesterday as a maintenance day.

Braden Holtby will start against the Sharks after Sunday’s fiasco in Chicago, and Todd Reirden is tinkering with his bottom six forwards and third pairing on defense. Devante Smith-Pelly, Nic Dowd, and Madison Bowey will be the scratches tonight, indicating Dmitrij Jaskin, Travis Boyd, and Jonas Siegenthaler are in.

No Jumbo Joe and no EK65?  Maybe we can keep it close.

KitFisto:
We give up 4 goals in 3 min yet?

Mickstix:
This ought to be fun..   At least Reirden had the guts to scratch: DSP, Dowd and Bowey..  ::)  Low hanging fruit.. If he had any balls he would give anyone  making over 3 million a year (sans 8 and 43) the night off.. And add Orpik to the list.

WTF!?

Backy centers the top line.  Kuzy centers the second

WAY TO SEND A MESSAGE COACH.

Fucking jackass.

I hardly ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever complain about a coach, but status quo is NOT acceptable nor what the Caps need at this point.e

Well Ovi and Wilson....NOW is the time to take this team and lead them. One Captain and one (hopefully) future Captain.  This is YOUR team and the coach is NOT going to do anything, so it's time to EARN your C and your salary (and your future).  Someone HAS TO step up.  Someone HAS TO LEAD this team.
I don't care if you lose, but you sure as hell better beat the living daylight out of the other team and better the fuck show 60+ minutes of full on effort.
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?  Hell no!  When the going gets tough, the tough get going.  Now lets show some fucking toughness and get this GOING!!!!!!!!!

Jesus - my fucking tomorrow RANT has already started.  Who knew?  apparently, I'm a premature Ranterulater.  I'm fucking pissed already and the damn game is still hour from starting.

GO CAPS!

<edit> - GO you FUCKING CAPS! (you worthless lazy bunch of som bitches)
