Eller did that last night and scored. Way too often we get in a great position to shoot and inexplicably try another pass. (Yea, that's you Kuz and Burakovsky) Stop the cutesy stuff and shoot. You'll find that pucks start going in.
The PP is another issue. Teams have figured out how to break up our entries by putting a picket fence of 4 guys on the blueline or in the neutral zone. In that case you have to get it in deep and get in there and outwork your opponent. Nobody is going to give you anything. We simply aren't working hard enough on the PP. The advice about shooting goes for the PP, too. Get people in front and shoot the puck.

I agree with you that other teams seem to have figured out our PP by stopping zone entries in the first place. What I'm a bit surprised at is how our coaching staff haven't really made the necessary adjustments. We have all the talent in the world on PP1 but none of those guys can actually dump and battle to retrieve pucks.

Our top two line centers need to pick it up if the Caps are going to have any success. Eller has probably been our best center in the last few games.

Agreed 4Caps!
Backy, and Kuzy too.
Maybe it’s just me, but Kuzy seems to just be going through the motions somewhat! I’m not going to say he looks like he RESENTS playing, but maybe a notch less than that! Like he’s angry or something!
Maybe even add Oshie in there too. He hasnt been that big of a disruption factor, like he normally is!
These are some very talented names here. Hopefully they will get it back soon!

Two guys that need to step it up - Kuzy and Oshie. They are getting paid to put the puck in the net and need to stop all the fancy stick-handling and passing. The only guys we have beside Ovi that really want to shoot the puck are Vrana and Eller.

LOL, Thanks Beags!
I mean...could they have kept the camera closeup on Carlson, any longer, while locker was REPEATEDLY mentioning that “finally” he was selected to the Allstars!
If that isn’t mixing in the “Buttermilk Ranch”, (🤣), than what the hell ever IS??
Good to hear from ya!
