What did I get wrong. Here is a definition of boot and bonnet.
boot: UK US trunk a covered space at the back of a car, for storing things in: I always keep a blanket and a toolkit in the boot for emergencies. Stolen goods were found in the boot of her car.
bonnet noun [ C ] (METAL COVER) UK US hood the metal cover over the part of a car where the engine is: I looked under the bonnet and clouds of smoke poured out.
