Smoke and Mirrors?

The Rags and Hens, in particular, have success playing against us by (essentially) using a passive D focusing on stock play and generating turnovers to be turned into odd man rushes. While most teams do this, it works particularly well against us.
The reason is the skill/finesse Euro style we insist on and will not or cannot adapt from.
If it wasn’t for Grubbys performance last night. it’s unlikely we’d of won based on the turnover/sloppiness alone.

A month ago it appeared that Trotz had finally gotten through to the team that they need to play down and dirty and we were getting a fair number of gritty goals. Suddenly we're back to the pretty boy finesse scoring or no scoring at all and we're losing as a result. It's baffling that they seem unable or unwilling to change it up as needed. Are the elite players that hard for the coach to smack around and teach or is the coach unable to see or address the problem? There are times I wonder if I know a damn thing about hockey when I see them fail to do the obvious.
