This flu, so far, has mainly killed the elderly and infirm. No different than the normal flu. So far, half of all 60 deaths in this country are at one assisted living home in Washington state. We’re seeing a %98-99 recovery rate. And all indications are this flu was here 4-6 weeks before it was identified. As I understand it, Italy is the same. The big difference there is how extended families are all in one house
Yes, the casualty numbers are low in comparison to about anything else. Which is causing it to spread faster.

The issue is both the high transmission rate and, as I understand, the intensity and severity of the symptoms. Which can, and has caused concentrated infections.  So most of us won’t “die”. but be miserable for a few days to catch it again.

The good note though, is this pandemic has proven that open boarders, mass-migration, a
the more refugees you take the higher your morality, socialized medicine, healthcare for all, kill the rich, death to the patriarchy and death to whitey pyramid scheme of the left in The US and Europe, is just a cheap sales pitch for entertainment for the “elites” to gain power

This ain't just ordinary flu, though, is it?.  Ordinary flu kills a certain amount of the population.  Those that are frail and infirm.
This is a genetically modified virus designed to cull certain members of the human race.   :(

Well....yes.  It WAS specifically designed to cull the old and infirm.  A "perfect" virus would be one that would spread without anyone knowing about it (like one where symptoms don't show up for a couple weeks after you are infected).  Although a perfect virus would be much more lethal.
17+% of the Chinese population is old and lives on the government's dime.  17% of 1.386 billion people is roughly 240 million old people.  Can you fathom what it costs to care for 240 million people who basically do not produce anything FOR the country?  I bet the Chinese government fathoms it very well.
If it kills a few hundred million other Chinese....Meh...more where that came from, we have more than enough to spare.
If it kills a few, or better yet, several hundred million people from other nations...
If it destroys the economy of all the world's leading countries....
Meh..all the better for China as a world power.

By the way...I'm not this brutal and not my sentiment on the elderly (I still read the Bible), but I certainly believe a brutal Chinese government would do this on purpose

By the way, my business has 7 employees depending on my business to succeed for their livelihood.  I'm not talking about a restaurant or other "social gathering" place.

We are less than the "group of 10" number too.

By the way...a little bird just told me:

Homeland security is preparing to mobilize the national guard.  Preparing to dispatch them across the US along with the military.  They will also call in all 1st responders.
this is to prepare for an announcement of a nationwide 2 week quarantine for all citizens.  All businesses closed.  Everyone to be at home.
This will be announced as soon as they have troops in place to help prevent looters and rioters...to be announced before the end of the weekend.
The president will invoke the Stafford Act - a two week mandatory quarantine for the entire nation.

So I have a couple issues with this....

1)  Are we really going to enforce this?  You going to shoot someone who gets bored and wanders out?
2)  What about those who simply do not or can not survive at home for 2 weeks without venturing out (and this aint me, but some people are helpless and can barely feed themselves)
3)  WTF is 2 weeks going to do?  Are we going to cure this in 2 weeks?  No!  Are we going to stop having the virus in 2 weeks?  Hell No?  Are we going to suddenly kill off the spread of the virus in 2 weeks?   NO.  So TWO weeks is fantasy.  It will certainly slow the spread (for about two weeks), but unless we are planning on a much longer term of being under marshal law, then this is BS.
4)What about all the after effects of this...like the destruction of our economy and our freedom.

This little bird sounds like a scam to me.

I think a national full blown in house quarantine is a brilliant plan.  I made the decision to completely quarantine my family weeks ago..  Of course, I had pre-planned for a scenario like this. We could stay in the house without any resupply for months.  We do get out for short isolated walks and bike raids, though I can't partake in much of that myself. Rule #1: Do not go near anyone.

The data from other countries indicate that this action will have a huge impact on the contamination curve.  I planned for far worse than a Coronavirus.  I got to the stores to restock beginning a week before the rush that emptied the shelves, but I'd been stocking up for years to plan for any contingency where suply lines are cut.

All you have to do is read history and it becomes very clear that not doing as we did is utterly insane.  History is replete with events that caused massive shortages and restrictions on products and most often by the time the public realizes actions should be taken it is too late to do so.
Locked and loaded on all fronts.

Two weeks at this point will have a big impact.  Also, the proposed in house quarantine does allow for walking your dog, and short walks as long as social distancing is kept safe.  The real goal of the ban is prevent idiotic, invulnerable young people who are too stupid to understand the danger their recklessness causes.  Seeing those FUCKING IDIOTS on the beaches in Florida starting Spring Break as if all was normal just proved how stupid young people are.
Be careful what you ask for America; you just might get it.
