In 1977, I graduated from Jefferson High School, ( before it became a “brainiac” school),  and since the drinking age was 18 at the time, I was disco dancing to KC, Bee Gees, Tavares, etc., in platform shoes, bell bottoms, and big collared shirts!!

New wave, and Punk rock were just in their infancy,  and had not yet obliterated the disco scene in Georgetown, Wash. DC.

Played in a few battle of the bands contests, also during that time, at Louie’s rock city in Falls Church, for any of you old folks that still remember!

Okay this is weird.
I went to Stuart.
That's not the weird part.

Louie's Rock City/The Place Where Louie Dwells, do you recall a Chinese restaurant next door to them?  Dragon Palace.
That was my parents' place, I basically grew up there.  Before Louie's, it was a Giant.

.....are you John's dad?!?!

If you mean John Tavares, the Maple Leafs captain, then, No, or at least I’m not aware of an invitation to Toronto’s “hockey dad’s night“!!😂🤣

I suspect I may have a few too many years on you, Ozzie!😁
Tavares was an RnB/funk band from the 70’s. They had a pretty good groove, IMO!
