Nobody cares if you are bored.  SOME people have real jobs and real responsibilities.  They can't be around constantly to satisfy your own personal Caps boredom.

Get a life already.

I'm curious to see where the Caps end up in the standings.  I never thought (well not in recent weeks) they would end up in 1st.  I think we will be fighting for 3rd in the division at best.  I'd be okay ending up in second or third, but would prefer not to end up in a wild card spot.  I certainly don't wan't Tampa in the first round, and not really Boston either.  I'd say it's pretty much a given that Boston and Toronto are a lock for 2, 3 so they will play each other.  (Montreal is 10 points out and I don't think they make the wild card spot, much less catch Toronto)

I'd really be okay starting the playoffs against anyone in our division other than Tampa.  I am not overly confident that we beat any team, but none of them really scare me.  I think the Caps can handle Carolina or Columbus, and Shittsburg doesn't scare me either.  I'm not that bothered by the Isles either.  Don't get me wrong, ANY of these teams could beat us, but I think Tampa is the only team that is truly dominant, and the Caps could beat them.  I'd rank Tampa as the best (wow, go out on a limb, I know) and Boston second, with the Caps third best in the East.  Maybe rank Toronto in their with the Caps, but  I'm a Caps fan so....

Caps play Carolina twice in the last ten games, so we they can sort of control their own destiny of NOT finishing last IF they show up and beat the Canes in both games, and if it comes down to a wildcard spot.

I know this is all fantasy at this point, but I can still dream, can't I?  (DAMN YOU, font size change thingamajig)

Oh, and someone call Kuzy and tell him we know he likes the playoff games and the regular season is just a warm up, but if he doesn't start warming up there won't be any playoffs.  About time for Holtby to find his groove too.

Go Caps

Carefull though, there are three teams and four coaches that are out for blood.  Not to mention each coach is better than ours, and have better D then we do.

This will absolutely be the most difficult playoffs in Caps history.  We should expect each team to play their best, each coach to come up with new schemes and new strategies, the likes of which we haven’t faced before.  But most of all NO ONE, will be looking past us and just waiting for us to loose.

“Talent” and last year will not be enough

Yep.  I'm not holding my breath this year.  WAY TOO MANY IF's.  And you're right, hell, all the teams will be out for our blood.  I'm would not be surprised at any of the teams beating us, but I also would not be surprised to see us beat anyone else (except Tampa) I mean we CAN be Tampa but I don't think we will (if we got the chance)

IF the caps show up.  IF Holtby is Hot.  IF Ovi wants it enough.  IF KUZY wakes the hell up.  IF  Backy shows up for the playoffs.  IF our D play at their best and our team D excels.  IF Willy doesn't get another mystery suspension, IF Reirdon can actually coach and handle the playoffs, IF the opponent doesn't get the bounces.  I mean, we got lucky last year and all these things fell into place and went our way, and we barely scraped by.  It was great, and I loved every minute, but I'm really not expecting it to happen again this year.

I just hope it aint Shitsburg that tosses us.  I hate losing to those whiney diving faggots.  I don't mind getting beat (well, I do, but....) by a hard hitting, hard playing team with superior talent and coaching that is just better.  I do hate getting beat by fucking diving, whiny cry-baby type hockey players.  The NHL REALLY needs to start calling the dive penalties.  It ain't a fucking soccer match.

The coaching is a problem.  It not a knock on Reirdon (okay, I guess it is) to say ALL the other teams we could face in the playoffs have better coaching.  I don't think that is unfair to say.  I can appreciate that Uncle Ted and the brain trust are very loyal an that TR did deserve an opportunity at some point, but why didn't we go after Babcock when he was available?  He is coach of ELITE status.  They don't come around that often.  Was he already signed by the time we were done in SC last year?

Also Faceoffs.  Someone (well several of us) have mentioned this in other threads how big an issue this is.  It's not just a stat, it's the potential of what the won/lost face off leads to.  On the PK or on the PP especially.  We don't have a solution for this.  It will cost us a game eventually, and a game might be the end of a season for us.

Anyway,

What do yuns think the goalie rotation will/should be?

Does Copely start vs the Devils and Holtz then get Tampa or other way round?

How many games does Copely get for remainder of the year?

A. Teams aint looking past nobody in the playoffs.. It's the PLAYOFFS!!!
B. There were even more "IFs" last year..
C. If you're "expecting" a cup, you don't watch enough hockey..
D. They don't want to lose to the Lightning again, so Holts will be in net..

Is it hockey season yet?  HFC the clock is slow.

Caps, give us something to talk about...

(other than Holtby's GAY PRIDE)

Is it wrong for me to agree to disagree that Hockey isn't really for EVERYONE, and I don't mean gay....I mean like most of my friends of lets say...."Latin American" ancestry have NO interest whatsoever in Hockey and don't care to have it forced on them, so It should be Hockey is for Everyone....who is INTERESTED IN HOCKEY.

How about 4mil left with Vranna and Stevenson still RFA?

Nicks contract being up and Holts is gonna need a payday. . .

In a perfect world we’d move Kuzy and/or Carlson for their cap space

Ideally, we’d just use the Cap space to extend Holts to keep him from going to a rival, then scrape up a could mil to add to Nicks.

But I think we resign Vrans, go into another with season with low cap room and hope for the best

Congrats Ovi.
Despite some of the complaints about his coasting and one-way play....we REALLY ARE blessed to have this superstar on our team and have had the pleasure of watching him on a daily basis.  He truly is the best goal scorer of his generation.

Kessel is such a d-bag.  I mean I don't want to get pounded by a heavyweight either, but I'm not going to turn tail and run and then weasel back in after the guy is jumped and chop him like a tree.  Disgraceful.

I don't remember seeing that incident before, yet I never did like Phat Phil, I already thought he was a dirt bag. I have far more respect for his gold medal winning sister Amanda. We will see less of Phat Phil now that was traded to Arizona, serves him right, maybe the desert heat we melt some fat off him
