Shouldn't be long now and we'll be getting some on ice activity!! Wondering how long the honey moon will last if they come out sloppy?? Im gonna be pretty lenient until... Well, Im not putting any time table on it..

I, for one, got a good chuckle on “still the champs” 😆
As far as the length of honeymoon time is concerned, that’s a good point. For the long term cap fans, especially, many of us had become reluctant, for good reason, to have high expectations, at both the pre and post season timeframe, and have grown accustomed to this.
For me now, the whole backdrop is different!! Why?.....well, WE WON THE CUP!! We achieved the very THING that was the main cause, in the end, of all our roller coaster emotional states during the prior seasons. Nothing takes that away! It’s now historical fact!!
It helps me to put an enormously happy exclamation point and period on that!! Of course I am optimistic for this upcoming season, but, IMO, it’s a new complete era in my book. Mostly the same crew, new coach, etc, but it doesn’t matter as much. I don’t have to start this season with the same apprehension as with many in the past because WE DIDNT GET BURNED THIS YEAR!!!! 😆 LOL.
For the first time in what seems like forever, I can be optimistic, but can let my expectations grow as the season does.  Haven’t been able to do THAT, in years, buddy!!
Well said by you, for trying not to put a timetable on it!! We’ve paid our anxiety debt already!! LOL

Been good! Totally agree on finally winning the cup! Been teasing DC cause he's still very critical, but it's like trying to tell highschool freshman they need to study hard and do good in school.. They eventually figure it out on their own..  I'd pretty much come to accept that I'd probably never see them win a Cup.. (Never really had that though, seriously, until I turned 50) And it was still fun watching, commenting, bitching, etc.. But then they surprise everyone and win it all! Made me feel like a teenage Redskin fan again!!  Hope you're around for the season!!

Funny thing about DC. He’s got that type of brain whose gears process at the intersection of “Dynasty Detroit Drive”, and “Data Analysis Highway”. (One reason I like the guy)! I do share some of his negative views on Ted, as far as the “entertainment” thing goes. But still see Mr Leonsis as an extremely charitable power force in the DC area, which on any scale, is a good thing
I’ve shifted my opinion to the positive side on GMBM, after bashing him for Shatty, and the Mojo fiasco, as examples, but DO LIKE the Kempny, Orpik, deals, and since Trotz leaving was a given on both sides, the way GMBM has set up things presently, I give him credit for that!
DC and I have immensely strong respect for, and still await the return of, gritty, heavier, old school hockey! And have a sour taste for a lot of the newer, softer, shit!
Somewhere down in the recesses of DC’s heart, there is a pulsing piece of kryptonite, that glows for
our Stanley! I’ll be getting slammed with him soon, and I’ll let you know if I see it!! 😂(luv ya DC)!!

Glad to be back on. Was able to observe the board banter, using the “guest” feature, all through last season, and the run for the CUP!! (Just love typing that little three-letter word, here on the board)!!
Honestly, glad I took a little break, and appreciate you AJ, honoring my wishes at the time. Don’t mind the “Newbie” status again, at all. Hell, I told DC it just makes me eligible for another shot of JD century! LOL.
A lot of great posting last season!! Checking the posts, such wide parameters of opinion, good hockey IQ, or the lack of it, opposing view, humor, anger, anxiety, pessimism, optimism, and everything in between, made for some fun reading! One that stuck out was Kits famous “The sky is falling” posts. A mix of sarcasm, and real anxiety, turning to superstition, where the board almost NEEDED to see his doomsday posts, as a good luck charm! Fuckin funny, Kit!🤣🤣
To me, it was THE WAY, our CAPS did it, that magnified, ten-fold, an already predictable, bubble bursting, victory celebration!  No one could have predicted The total AURA OF JOY, nor it’s length of INTENSITY,  as nothing seemed to have ever hit the DC area with such force!  I’ve been here through the Redskins Super Bowl’s, and they were great in and of themselves. Was present at Dulles, when the Bullets landed, returning from Seattle. (Even got Phil Cheniers autograph that day)!!  But, IMHO, short of my GOD, and my family, the Washington Capitals, 2018 Stanley Cup, tops EVERYTHING!!
There’s just something about all those years of hope and expectation, forcefully crammed, year by year, into life’s pressure cooker, add a little annual seasoning of NBC’s negative media coverage and lack of respect, and you’ve got one hell of an EXPLOSIVE DISH being served at Lord Stanley’s table!!!!
