Tuesday's Capitals Celebration Parade

<< < (2/13) > >>

ArJunaZ:
I'll be there.  Let me know if you're going and I will communicate with anyone interested in meeting up. We're going straight down to the staging area on the mall near 7th street.  I picked a few Championship hats, those cool charcoal gray Championship T-shirts.  The T-shirts are really classy looking. The cap is equally sweet. The T-shirt photo does not do the t-shirt justice IMO.

zerofox:
I don't live in DC =p

Got work plus it doesn't make sense to take a day or two off from work to make the trip. Plus I feel like the parade is for the local fans. Even though I love the Caps just as much as any of you guys, I feel like it would be weird for an out of towner to come by lol

Take some videos and post em here so I can watch though!

KitFisto:
I wanted to go, but middle of the week is a no go for me......sucks.

Mickstix:

I was playing the "what if" game myself..  "If" I got to Va., how would we actually get to the parade? Last time I was on "the lawn" was in 96' for the 4th of July. We parked in the grass at the end of 23rd and Constitution, threw the big cooler of beer off the truck, onto the top of a skateboard and straddled/rode it across the street to the party /concert going on beside the Lincoln Memorial.. Something tells me that's not happening these days?

Long crowded subway rides, don't really appeal.. And that's "if" I could find someone who wanted to ride 11 hours up, hang out for a few and ride 11 hours back..

Damn, where are you? Tennessee, South Carolina?  That is a long way.  I don't blame you. I will be taking pics and video.  I'll post some.

It is sad how things have changed. I used to work within 3-6 blocks of the White House for a long time at various places. I remember when you could drive ride up to and past the White House front fence and gate. I went to school just a few miles away in Annandale, VA.  I used to bring my uncased high powered rifle to high school and keep it in my locker. No one even took a second look at me for it. We've been played for fools allowing this unnecessary police state to grow up around us.  I do see the world putting these things back soon.
