Barry Trotz
Ozzies09tc:
Obviously it's on the other board, but there was a topic when Trotz was first hired and this (that) board was mostly for it -if not just for a breath of fresh air- but then it definitely got more 50-50 as the seasons/playoffs went on and nothing was changing.
With that said (if anyone remembers I was the one saying he's a good coach as his team terrorized my Blues for several seasons...) Cup or no Cup, what are your thoughts on bringing him back/re-signing him?
As far as I know he is still contract-free and are not negotiating right now (rightfully so)
OldHat:
If the Caps pull this off I see him pulling a Madden. If they flounder, who knows. I get the feeling he wants to retire though.

He finally got this group to not only show up for once, but to over-perform as needed. . . So good thing coaches don’t count against the cap.
But we know the reality is that its ultimately up to Ovie

Its what so many of us have been saying for years. Playing with balls, team defence, protecting the crease, effort, nastiness, consistent effort. Did I leave anything out?
And yes, it starts with OV. If they can keep this up they have a very good chance.

Go out on a high note... BUT after finally making it to the Finals for the 1st time in your career (whether winning or not) you really think he would retire?
Then, IF he does, who could live up to these expectations?
