Yeah,I clearly remember this star Czech Republic team  with Jagr and Hasek in net against Russia in final game where we had many stars players too,such as Bure,Fedorov,Zhamnov,Gonchar,however Czech team won the Olympic tournament..i was very disappointed

I would Holtby was the best player on ice as he has been regularly. 


Ovie is FINALLY being the Captain and has everyone else playing well beyond their thresholds, but with our Holtby being insane we aren’t this far

I think that with the realization that they are two games away from the cup that motivation and confidence will be on our side.  I've said it since before the series and especially after game 1, we are clearly the better team and this is ours to lose.  With the amazing strength of character the Caps have found I just don't see us letting this slip away.  Also, you have to believe that we have thrown a truckload of doubt into the Golden Knights heads; something they are not used to having.  Knock on wood, I like our chances a lot.  This is the Caps team we knew was in there somewhere. if only they could pull it all together consistently we always thought. Now they finally did and even with a bunch of new guys they are dominating. I am enjoying the heck out of this.
 

Yea, I think the thing is all over if we win tomorrow.  My only concern last night was that we looked fatigued at times and were not moving our legs.  When you start seeing lots of long stretch passes that's usually a sign of fatigue as the team isn't breaking out together with speed.  If you look at shots on goal and blocked shots, VGK had 48 attempts to our 35 not including any that missed the net.  We need to be spending more time in their end and reverse those numbers.  Play like Game 6 against TB and we'll win going away.

Watching the game again this morning!  Talked to my dad on the phone who mentioned an article in my hometown paper (I grew up in eastern PA) about the firing of the Hershey Bears coach this year and how nice it was that Barry Trotz called him personally after he'd been fired to thank him for producing so many of the Caps players who are currently in the Final who had played under this coach (Mann).  My dad read the list of players--it was a huge number.  Just a little Caps tidbit from my home state

Tomorrow is the biggest game in franchise history.  It's a must win.  Teams going up 3-1 in the finals are 32-1 when it comes to winning the Cup.  Win tomorrow and we'll do it.

Ha!  No...it's weird, I grew up an hour north of Philly but my family never supported any of the Philly teams.  And, to be honest, I only started watching hockey about five years ago when my husband (Flyers fan) said he thought I'd actually enjoy the sport (I avoided watching because I did not like the fighting).  To get him to stop pestering me, I finally started to watch the Capitals--and was hooked.  Philly teams are one thing; Philly fans are another.  To me, they represent one of the things that are bad about professional sports and I cringe when I see their fans behaving badly on television or read reports about it.

You're right.  If we lose tomorrow it's a best of 3 with 2 of them in Vegas, which just shows that a 2-1 advantage isn't all that meaningful. 


But even if we win tomorrow, nothing is assured until the 4th win is in the books.
