--- Quote from: BlackIce on Saturday June 02, 2018, 05:33:26 PM Eastern ---I don't know if anyone else is aware of what happened at the end of Wednesday's game -- I wasn't aware of it until just a short time ago.  But Erik Haula of Vegas slashed Orpik across his fingers at the very end of the game and received a 5 minute major and game misconduct for his trouble, which of course means nothing since the game was over, so he essentially got a "free shot."  Orpik had to get some stitches in one of his pinkies, and I guess will have his hand taped up to some extent.  Hopefully he will be able to hold his stick OK.

See, THAT'S not a hockey play.  Haula should have gotten a match penalty and been kept out of this game.  Deliberately trying to injure an opponent is what the NHL should be cracking down on.

The NHL should have suspended the SOB Haula for the rest of the playoffs. At a minimum the NHL should administer the penalty at the start of this game.  I remember when P.K. Subban intentionally slashed Mark Stone's wrist 50+ feet away from the puck and broke his wrist . He was given a 5 min major and a game misconduct, but the NHL did nothing further. I guarantee you that if Tom Wilson did anything like that he would be out for the rest of the series, and rightfully so. The NHL keeps pretending they are trying to protect players, but some players seem to be protected more than others. Fuck the NHL.

For those without access to local pregame shows, here is a brief clip about "The Save".

Braden Holtby makes the greatest Capitals Playoff save in History. Even a referee said it was the best save he'd ever seen in his career.
