DC & Ladys Hockey Vacation Travel Log

(1/9) > >>

DC_1908:
Day One:
11:30 AM:  while doing her hair/makeup, Lady scrams my first, MIDDLE, and last name from the bathroom when she’s the empty bottle of Lone Star I had for my shower beer.    I laughed, a lot. . . .  (few things are as amusing as when Lady drops the three names)

Lady hates the shower beer, why anyone could is baffling.

We are now on the way to her great Aunts, and to introduce me to Freebirds burritos.  Now i don’t care how good the burritos are, by god any place called Freebirds damn well better be playin Skynyrd nonstop!

and yet to have Whataburger

more later

DC_1908:
5pm:  on the way back from  Ladys great-aunts place (who is awesome btw), a “convenient” exit of 35, Lady happens to find one of her favorite stores (. . . ).  Good news, is there was a Signature Kroger (or as we called it in college “K-Rodger”), which usually has awesome beer section. .  . and this one did!

Texted alta about a brewery in his favorite neighborhood in Dallas (and this beer is awesome!)

But best of all, not only did I talk the beer lady at the store to open a Sam Adams Xmas 12 pack so I can get the 2 Old Fezzies (one of my all time favs), but they had the coveted and very difficult to find Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout. . ."an Imperial Stout brewed with a blend of coffees and imported chocolates, then aged in spent bourbon barrels that have most recently been aging pure Michigan maple syrup."  . . .oh hell ya!  Maaco you'll have to try it. . .

needless to say I bought a lot (well, . . .I kept it under $150), and I gotta lotta drinking to do before Thursday AM . . .

Day2: 4pm.   Both wrapping up work. . .and for the record, particularly those in the IT field, “because I said so” should be sufficiant for the change control bullshit that takes twice as long as it did designing and writing said change . . .

But now as works done, I had to try this!!  not a bad beer but the can is totally kick ass!

goes great with a cigar too!

We’re doin a brewery hop tonight, so more later. . . 😁

I'll have to look around for it. I just good home from the liquor store. Funny thing is I rarely drink Canadian beer. I always get imported beer. Today I got 6 Steinlager 6 Heineken 6 Grolsch and 6 Peroni. I'm always up for trying something new.
