Oh yeah, that's an important point...That Kaprisov contract goes into effect NEXT season...he has 1 year left on his current deal.

I saw the list of the second round of cuts.  Sourdiff and Chisolm were not on the list.   


interestingly, Carbery said today that the Blue Jackets have made virtually all their cuts and are down to 25 players in camp; the Caps still have over 50.  Carbery attributed this to Columbus having had a front-loaded exhibition game schedule, so they've already made almost all their roster decisions.


Which also means that the Caps' motley crew tonight is facing basically the Blue Jackets' NHL roster.
