They did ok, but will need to tighten it up quite a bit in Carolina.We just keep losing puck battles in our zone and our gameplan is to just let them keep circling the perimeter - which has worked for now as LT has been a rock.


I was wrong on Mangiopani - he played well and Duhaime played great as did Willy.


I love PLD but he has had a couple bad games and Strome and Chicky were little shaky.

We do seem quite passive. Not sure what we're scared of. Need to challenge them more through the neutral zone and pound their ass any chance we get!

Caps won and tied the series up, so I'm going to revel in it for now.

Had to watch a replay after work and I’m glad we won, but this kind of permanent ain’t gonna get it done.  They have won a single period [2nd period tonight] and have badly lost 4 of the other 5 periods in these two games.  We are lucky to be tied. 

It was a weird contrast of teams.  Caps have elite finishing but lack possession metrics; Canes have elite possession metrics but lack finishers.

Carlson looked better this game....not because of the goal, but just in general, more mobile, less sluggish.  I think (hope) he was nursing something cuz he was flat out terrible in round 1.
Still look like doo-doo in our own end.  Need to upgrade the D in the offseason.  I'm okay with Roy, and Chychrun is obviously staying, but Alexeyev hasn't looked good, TVR is completely suspect (yet his metrics are okay), Sandin is a fine puck mover, but he's not much help in our own end. Carlson...well...he's old and it shows.  Carlson and TVR have a year left on their contracts so I expect we are stuck with both.  We need at least 1 new top 4 D to help this squad.  They would look much better if they weren't all having to play top 4 roles when they are really more like bottom 2 D.
Willy - damn, love the energy, but he's gonna kill someone or get sent on sudden DPS vacation if he doesn't watch it.
Radysh was pretty invisible.  Don't expect lots out of him, but would like better board play and more hits from him

At least it's not as bad as these squawking women we're getting in some of the other games.  One of them literally just can't shut up.  She talks more than the play by play guy.  I'd love to see a poll of what people think of this push for females in the booth.

Carlson has actually been one of the few bright spots.  He's had two of the better games he's had in ages.  Sandin is fairly useless this time of year.  He gets tossed all over the place in our own end by big forwards.  He'd be the first guy I'd trade in the off-season.

This performance won't hack it in Carolina.  I could see us going down about 4-1 or 5--1 unless we really can sustain some offensive zone time and stop looking like chickens with no heads in our own end.  Without Thompson, this thing would already be over.

Haha.  And here I thought I was the only chauvinist here.  Yeah, some of them are out of control.  Then i watched the start to the Winnipeg game and the woman was so soft spoken you could barely hear her.  She wasn't all blabby but i had to work to here her talk.

and at least its no longer Penishead McGuire.  Man how I hated hearing that guy.
