This team is going to be in a bad way come playoff time if the defense and goaltending don't pick up. Thompson has looked like crap lately and we're giving up way too many quality chances. Since they seem fixed in cement with these 6 defenders, they better play a game that is hell bent on forechecking in the offensive zone. If they play too much in their own end come playoff time, it won't end well.

I agree Wayne. This team has had great success this year BECAUSE they have played the majority in the O-zone forechecking or whatnot, scoring with abandon, but WHEN we get hemmed in our own D zone....our weaknesses are exposed - like nobody who can just plain clear the crease (or at least nobody currently playing who can)
Aggressive forechecking teams have times where they just dominate us in our d zone. And that's the norm in playoffs...its not all passing and shooting and scoring - its hard grinding work that gets it done.
I'm not knocking our players (okay, except Carlson :lol: ), but our D style of play is not muscling guys out and taking the puck away.
Though Chicklets and Fever are not bad really, but overall we can get pushed around in our own zone. NOT the way to win playoff hockey.
We got to find a way to keep it in the other end or we will be in trouble. Sure would be nice to get BigMac and AlexAlex some games before its too late.
