Nice win....damn sure would have been nice to have 1 of them goals the night before, but good bounce back.
The Blues are beleaguered at the moment, but you need to take advantage and beat the struggling teams.
Thompson looked good. I thought from the start he'd earn the starting job. I know with the Caps schedule and the trend (mostly) in the NHL is to utilize two goalies, but at some point they not going to be able to ignore the numbers. Thompson's 7-0 is tough to ignore.
I do think Carbs will put the guy in that he feels gives the best chance to win. He did that last year with Kuemper, even though he was clearly intended as the #1.
McMichael just looks better and better. I love that he is scoring all sorts of ways, breakaway, tip in, snipes, etc, but his defensive play is dramatically better as well. Him and Protus both are hugely better than last year. These guys scoring helps take pressure of Ovi and certainly provides him with more room to score. Now if we can just get PLD scoring. He is making plays and he may not be getting points, but he is helping in the offensive zone. Certainly not producing at his salary level though.
By the way...Kuemper is 4-1-1, with 2.72 GAA and .900 SV% with the Kings who are 9-4-3.
