The first regular season game in the history of the Washington Capitals was against the New York Rangers. Despite being the clearly inferior team, the Caps somehow pulled into a 3-3 tie at one point -- after which the Rangers asserted themselves and won 6-3. Think of this game as a reprise, in revers, of the first game in franchise history. A fitting reprise in the 50th anniversary season.
They have Vrana's goal listed as Unassisted Sgarbossa clearly passed the puck from behind the net to the slot....don't care if it hit a dman along the way, that should be an assist
This has been my thought all season...didn't want to speak it out loud though. Keep waiting on one of them to steal the job...okay TBH, been waiting on Thompson to take it, but he's been not great at times also.Gonna bite us in the ass when we come back to reality and stop scoring 4+ goals every night.Canes are gonna test us - they are pretty stingy on goals allowed
