Haven't seen Logan play yet, but he could have a 0 ga and 100% save through the entire pre-season and Chuck will still be the Caps #1.. You know this.. :raspberry:

Well I said this in his last game, but since I know Lil loves to analyze stats...
Thompson is 56w 32L in his NHL career - all with Vegas. 2.67 GAA and .912 SV%
and as a reference...Lindy: 53W 39L in career, 2.79 GAA, .909 SV%
If you compare only the last 2 seasons:
Thompson: 46w, 27L 2.68 GAA, .911 SV%
Lindgren: 74w, 27L 2.80 GAA, .907 SV%
So there numbers are very very close percentage wise.
I agree with Mick that Lindgren is the starting goalie....for now. I do believe Thompson could be the better goalie, and he has the advantage of being a bigger guy at 6'-4", 205lbs. Lindgren is 6'-2, 175lbs (170 without the moustache)
To me - Lindgren has always played small in net...even for his size...he has a tendency to crouch down early and leave the top of net exposed. I think it cost him a whole lot less that it should have last season, but thats just my observation. I also think he played slightly above his level last year, but lets hope it was just him improving.
Side note...I heard Joe B say Thompson was never drafted...which surprises me based on his size alone, but ironically we have two NHL goalies who were neither ever drafted. I looked it up...about 12% of NHL goalies were never drafted.
There you go Lil...little sumpin to chew on till Saturday

Lindy and Thompson combined will make less than $2M this season

Yeah, that's crazy. Logan signed a 2 year rookie deal for $800k per, then took a slight pay cut signing a 3-year deal for $766k per.
That's actually BELOW the current league minimum of $775k per year...so I'm sure that was league minimum when he signed the deal in 2021/22
Logan makes less than all four of the goalies Caps have in the minors :-|
Both are UFA's after this season so both will be getting pay raises....somewhere
