I'm not sure I like Radysh coming out - but who else could they sit?  Leonard plays right wing, so it would have to be Radysh or Duhaime.  I would swap out Mangiopani, but he plays left wing.

On the bright side, OV needs 3 goals in 7 games to set a new record. And, the Caps have already clinched a playoff spot.

Hunter Shepherd was called up from Hershey to cover for Thompson. I wonder if Thompson hasn’t had a minor issue for a few games now. It would explain how bad he’s looked his past couple starts. Getting run over in his crease by Hall in the 1st may have helped solidify the injury.


The call up was likely yesterday, but when the players have a day off it seems the entire organization takes a day off.

Hopefully that explains his recent struggle in net. And whatever is ailing him heals quickly!

Leonard has looked good I think especially considering his age and his time with the team. He has driven the play and been involved offensively, as well as hit some guys.
I did notice a couple times as he heads up ice ahead of play he turns and pivots to skate backward through the neutral zone.  Like he's looking back to see if someone is going to pass him the puck.  I don't know if that's what he did often at BC or if he just doesn't know his new linemates and their tendencies yet so he's looking to see what's happening.
Anyway...I expect this is gonna get him killed if he keeps it up...turning his back and skating across the blue line eventually the D is gonna notice and step up big and clobber him at the line as he's catching a pass.
Saw him do it 2 or 3 times and I just don't recall seeing other offensive players do that.

I do like that this coach doesn’t hide things from the press/fans like the previous coach, but his idea of a little bit of time varies a bit.

That's tragic for the Roy family, especially since it has happened multiple times.  Incredible that they were so open about their loss to try and help others at a time when they are clearly hurting.

I see the Caps have Leonard now listed at 6’0”, 192 lbs. (originally reported 200lbs)
He looks pretty solid when he plays. For references that’s about TJ Oshie size (and Milano…thought he was taller)
I have been quite impressed with Lenny thus far. He looks solid and he’s in the play and making plays.
Also was surprised he was out killing a penalty at the end of a one goal game
Was that Carbs trusting him or just trying to get him confidence and his first goal?

I dunno, but I once thought it unheard of to think he'd get a sweater for playoff games. But... Dude is noticeable on the ice! He doesn't look big, but he plays big. He's fast, does all the shit you want a young power forward to do.. Not sure who'll get a scratch, if anyone, but I certainly see it as a possibility now that I've seen him play a couple games.
