Don't care how they spin it, this is a head scratcher.. Kid is 5'11" 170# basically zero NHL experience and a RFA.. We gave up a 2nd and 6th to get him?

Starting to realize all those good moves before last year we're majority made by GMBM..  :-\

Looks like a good pick for regular season success. The playoffs though, are a different animal.

Mickstix:
I don't see how it's a good pick for anything.. A 2nd and 6th for an AHL RFA is nuts. I guess we'll see if the scouts saw something everyone else doesn't..

And he has to clear waivers to send him to Hershey. So, he's gonna be on the roster or they'll risk losing both those picks for nothing.

I've seen multiple explanations of the RFA process and how we basically could of gotten him for less by making an offer FL couldn't match, then only giving up the 3rd round pick..

okay i see the point of signing him and giving up a 3rd, but instead they gave up a 2nd to guarantee him.  The 6th round is peanuts.  I mean...a sixth round pick...that's 181 - 212 picks into a total of 224 pick draft.  Thats not far from "undrafted"  I mean its still a pick and Im sure you could get a player that develops into something, and there has to be some value on a 6th round pick, but...it aint much in trade value.  Or am i just undervaluing the 6th round?

I don't know or follow the AHL guys at all so i have no idea who this guy is or what he is worth, but this does seem a little odd.
Looks like a 3C to me.  Maybe its goodbye to Lars.

The NHL will participate in the 2026 Winter Olympiad at Milan/Cortina.

https://www.nhl.com/news/olympics-nhl-player-participation-in-2026-gets-final-approval

This Olympiad makes no sense to me. With how big the Olympics have gotten, it is difficult to have all the events in one location. I expect future Olympics to be like Salt Lake City or Sochi, where there are two clusters of events. But the Salt Lake and Sochi clusters were a short drive from each other. Salt Lake is a one hour drive from the city where the ice skating events took place to the slopes where the snow events took place. Today, it’s a five hour drive between Milan and Cortina, which will probably be 8 during the event because of the local roads. And, there are a couple other event locations that aren’t in between Milan and Cortina.
