OK, now I'm starting to get greedy.

It certainly was a good move to get Eller back here to bolster the third line.  But once Ovie returns, I still think we are most unsettled there, even though we have numbers now.  Plus, if there is a shortage on this team, it is natural right wings.

I just saw some stories about the Rangers wanting to shake things up.  There were a few players mentioned that they could move, and one of them is Kaapo Kakko, age 23, a natural right wing who was the #2 pick in the 2019 draft and has played in the NHL since he was drafted.  He has played on the 3rd line this season, and currently has a $2.4 million cap hit, I believe.  I would LOVE to have this guy with Eller and Mangiapane as L3, and let's go.  It leaves Vrana/Lapierre/Miroshnichenko swinging in the wind, but perhaps one of them could go as part of a trade for him.  Another guy I'd throw in is Alexeyev - the Rangers are currently stronger on the right side of the defense than the left, maybe they'd give him a chance, because the Caps sure aren't.

The question is, should the Caps make a move like this and maybe lose a bit of their depth and a young potentially breakout player or players, but really solidify the starting lineup?  Is the team good enough to justify making a move like this?  One reason I might do it is because Iorio is, I think, having a good season at Hershey and could serve as depth even this season.
