Holy shit that was a beating!! Watching us play teams like that, it's a grim reminder of the lack of talent this team has. At least we're developing Protas and McMike! They'll make a decent 3rd line one day!

Watched that shit-show this morning - props to those who watched it live - can't imagine how painful that must've been.
The first 18-19 minutes we looked like a real NHL team. Once they scored the shorty, you just knew it was over.
I knew McKinnon was fast, but Jesus I didn't know anyone was that fast. Makar embarassed the crap out of us.
We just got school but a much more talented team. AINEC.
Mick said it a while back, we simply don't have the talent we need to compete. And we used to always be one of the most elite, talented teams in the league. Those days are in the rearview.
Hope we continue to suck so that we don't have any delusions around trade deadline time of being "a player or two" away from competing. This team is an entire line or two away from even thinking about competing.
Let the pups come up from Hershey.

Well we knew it was gonna be embarrassing. We just didn't know how embarrassing.
The Caps competed really hard for 19-1/2 minutes. The shorty ended it. It was inevitable the Avs were going to score more than one, but the shorty pretty much sealed the deal. That and anytime the caps miss on multiple great opportunities, ring the iron multiple times.....you know its over.
Oh, and for the record, that was a shit call on Dowd - that was NOT a trip...the fucking guy fell down. (not that it would have mattered in the end)
But D-A-Y-E-M! them Avs is a good team. McKinnon is a stud. I recall watching him with ultimate determination in the playoffs...just willing his team to win. It was an awesome site. (too bad the Caps don't have any of those guys)
He has like a 24 games scoring streak. That is damn impressive.
Oh, and they have shit for a goalie, but it doesn't matter when you have the puck 90% of the game and don't let the other team play with it.
And exactly How the F does a DEFENSEMEN score a shorty?
