Caps finish the game %44.8 at faceoffs. Which isn’t bad against the #1 faceoff team.

We looked really tired after the 1st period and the ice seemed slow.  Even McMike, looked like he was struggling. Kuzy played lousy again - just skates around and makes poor decisions - needs to be benched again.

Not sure yet about Bear. I was hoping he had more size, but I guess he fits their prototype.  I'm with Mick on Sandin.  He hasn't played well all year and makes some bad decisions as well.

Fever is just a stud!

If you had your choice of who Willy would give a beatdown to between Cindy and Malkin, who would you choose?

Sindey. He deserves it more.

Although, Fever does owe him, and I’d put my money on Fever.

They definitely need to get healthy, so they can scratch Kuzy more often. He's either lazy or just cooked.

Fever is indeed our best D.

I'd rather see Willy beat up Malkin. He'd murder Crosby. Like, career end. lol

Sammi just said Strome only played 11 something and none in the final 15. Hope it's not injury related.  :cross:

He played less than 1:30 in the 3rd..

https://www.nhl.com/scores/htmlreports/20232024/TV020576.HTM

What the hell - arguably [maybe even not arguably] your best forward this year and he's stuck on the 3rd line with the Smurf and Lappy [am AHL center playing NHL winger].  Meanwhile, Kuzy gets yet another chance as #1 center?  It's like we're rewarding Kuzy for not giving a shit.

Strome had only 3 shifts in the third period for a total of 90 seconds.  Kuzy had 7 shifts with over 5 minutes of ice time.  Why are we freezing out Strome?  Hopefully he tweaked something to explain HCSC's decision.  Otherwise I have no idea what he's thinking.

On the flipside, every time I watch someone else call a Caps game, I'm remind and thankful for Joe B.  That crew last night [Weeks and B'gras - who I actually like in studio] were pretty bad calling the game.  We're fortunate to have Joe B, Alan May, Alexa and Locker.

I watched Carberry in couple interviews prior to game...maybe day after last game and again yesterday?..
Anyway, he mentioned Strome by name at least twice about him really struggling and having a bad game (previously).  Not sure if that had something to do with his 3rd line assignment and playing time vs Hens or if it was more of just a match up thing or what.  I don't think Strome is a superstar, and do believe he his playing above his true level when it comes to goals, but what I do like is he will SHOOT THE PUCK.  Don't get me wrong, I like Strome, but I'm not ever expecting to see him score 40 goals or put up 100 pts in a season.

And I agree 100% on the announcers....we are so spoiled with Joe B, I can hardly stand to watch other NHL games.  Joe just follows the game so well and actually calls the game.  More like a radio play by play guy.  Most guys....if you were to close your eyes and listen and not watch, you'd miss 80% of what goes on in the game.  And Alexa is fantastic as well.  She is awesome host, great talker, listens to what others are saying, stays on topic...and she is knowledgeable and really drives the show.  She is very polished in her skill - its obvious she has studied and worked at her craft and she really smooths out the rough edges of some of the not quite great skills of some of the other guys.  I think she really pulls it all together, and I actually enjoy the pregame/intermission/post game now.  I used to just turn it off.  I expect she will go on to bigger things at some point, but she is excellent at what she does. (The fact that eyeliner looks so much better on her is irrelevant, but a nice plus)
