Wowza. I watched on about 2 hour delay so couldn't contribute during the game (and I know y'all missed that)
Anyway - nice to see the fellas score some goals, but Shephard didn't look so hot. Even in the first he seemed to react slowly. What is it with this team and goalies? Shephard looked damn good in the preseason.
Loved seeing Fever actually check someone. Kid can play and he's got pretty good wheels. Hughes can fly and Fever read it well and was able to keep up after pivoting and crush him. That was like the exclamation point on the night. I was just telling my son nobody hits anyone in this game anymore and BOOM...light him up Fever! More of that, please.
Saw Carlson actually hit someone at the blueline too...although he prolly just misread it and they collided by accident
Strome is looking like the guy they paid him to be. I liked him last year but was a little surprised at the contract...but then when an I not. I wish they'd put Strome out in OT...with Willy or Milano or someone who wants to score. Ovie and Backy just too fucking slow for OT.
And big Tony Antman...surprised the goalie, himself, his line-mates, the bench, the coaches, the crowd, the fans at home, and everyone watching on TNT
He had a three point night until they overturned Milano's goal.
I HATE that fucking offsides review shit. I have hated it since day one and will always hate it. It takes away from the game. Yes lineman miss the call sometimes...Play on - don't turn it into football where you can question every call. I mean we don't review OBVIOUS missed penalties. so why a missed offsides?
I hate the goal review too, but not as much as the offsides. I wouldn't hate the goal review if they got it right more often, but there is no consistency ever with that shit (unless your the Caps, then you know its NOT going your way)
I'll take the win. Sadly it appears we need to score 5 goals to win a game and I don't see this team averaging 5 goals a game often.
Go Caps
