Unfortunately the Caps are stuck with what they have, unless the GM and the rest of management grow a pair and dump some salary. The Mantha contract hasn’t worked out. Carlson was never worth more than $6M. That’s almost $8M right there.


Lines from practice this morning. I expect Kuemper to start Saturday night. Tuesday and Wednesday are back to backs, I expect Stevenson to get one of those..

I don't mind the Malenstyn-Protus-Mantha line 4.  Big bodies but got some scoring skill too.  Although Mantha is paid enough for an entire 4th line alone

Three games in and Matthew Phillips still leads the team in scoring and not a single player has a positive +/-.  I guess scoring some goals would help that stat.
Oh, and Caps are in the cellar of the division/conference already, and only San Jose has a worse goal differential in the entire league.

So I don't follow the AHL closely at all, but is the Bears success due to good young talent or the fact the team has about 50% pretty decent career AHL talent with lots of experience?  I mean I know the team has some veteran AHL guys, but is the ratio the same for other AHL squads or do the Bears have an abundance?

We're #32 in GPG and #31 in PP.  It isn't going to improve much.  It's just time to admit that we're a bottom feeder and that management is clueless.  Five years after a SC win, we're in total rebuild mode while the team we beat wins a cup and is looking likely to maybe get another.  I say total rebuild mode although the FO doesn't seem to acknowledge it.  The forseeable future is bleak to say the least.

Or is it only ESPN...and can local folks get it on ESPN?

And same question for the TNT game Wednesday...can I watch it locally on TNT or on Monumental?

Also...anybody know why Oveckin's English is no better now than it was like after year 3 in the States?

According to the NHL schedule makers  , tonight is on ESPN and tomorrow is on TNT. Both should be part of any basic cable package.
