The NHL roster expansion was April 1. Meaning teams can carry as many players as they want without having to put guys on IR. Teams still have to abide by the salary cap rules until the playoffs start.

All we have to do is win the last 2 and we are in.  And in all likelihood, we will need to win both.

Detroit's last 2 games are both vs Montreal / Hens face Nashville, then the Islanders / Islanders face Devils then the Hens

Carolina Hurricanes (M2) vs. New York Islanders ((M3)

There are still a bunch of games tonight and Thursday, but it looks like they don’t affect the playoff brackets. I’ve not seen an official schedule yet.

Caps looked great in the 1st, but it started to get ugly in the second; to me they just looked spent.  I don't blame them, but I'll take the breaks we enjoy some Caps playoff hockey.

But damn.... we had trouble scoring on Philthy and their young GT?  WTF it be like vs Shesturkin and some real D?
At least we get to find out over the pending last four games of the Caps season  :raspberry:

I hope Strome is super pumped for his first real playoff action and catches fire in the playoffs.  Someone better.

Agree - Ovi was shot. Willy was shot, and the rest of them had nothing for the 2nd and 3rd periods.  That empty net was an absolute gift - maybe Torts hates the Pens more than we do.


On another note, Leonard is heading back to BC for another year.  Wish he would have come out.
