I for two season we had the roster which was capable to win the Cup. BMac did many good moves and some bad. Trotz was a save shot, he can bring almost any team to playoff zone, but never win anything. Did Caps really miss playoffs at Ovie's time?

But it isn't. Like, go look at his Wiki page. It states the same thing.

That just proves my point, crappy journalism. Copy and paste is not journalism, nor is reposting a bunch of tweets. How many fans does this game have that have no idea there was a 4 column win lose sheet?

We also had an easy run in the eastern conference. The Caps were the 4th seed so we faced Boston who was the 5th seed. The top 3 teams in the east lost in the first round so we became the top seed left in the 2nd round. We then faced the 8th seed Ottawa in the 2nd round and the 6th seed team Buffalo in the 3rd round. We finally faced a top team in the final and got swept. The series was closer than people think. 3 of the 4 games were by one goal. I think the turning point in that series was the OT loss in game 2. Im sure Juneau was rewarded a penalty shot in the OT but lost the puck in the snow that Osgood piled up in front of the net. That might have been the game that Tikanen missed the wide open net.

that run to the finals had as much luck in it as every time since that the Caps crapped out in the 2nd round, it was all luck ::)

My point is that we weren't as good as some other teams but got further. Showing that anything can happen in the playoffs. Like riding a hot goalie and getting favorable matchups. That team was built more like a playoff team than our teams of the past couple seasons. That team had some grit.
