With last night's game the regular season is officially half over for the Caps. Ovie with 29 goals - I never would have expected this. He has a very realistic chance at another 50 this year.
This game was notable in that both Fehervary and Alexeyev were on the ice. It is time for Alexeyev to take his place on the D corps, though not necessarily alongside Fehervary. Both are really LD. I wonder who was playing the right side on their pair last night? Regardless, the D corps really needs the infusion of youth, and both are 23 now. It's time.
Mantha down to the 4th line. OOF. But you have to admit, a Mantha/Protas/Hathaway 4th line LOOKS imposing, at least.
So now all of a sudden, a glut on RW. Sheary/Oshie/A-K/Hathaway, Mantha bumped to the left side. What happens when Wilson returns? His rehab is taking longer than originally expected, but maybe they feel they can afford to be conservative with him given the RW situation. Look for a trade involving a RW at some point, perhaps?
