The starters looked decent. McMichael better find his touch this season. Dude gets a lot of chances. I really like Snively. Bummer with the LW situation and his contract he's probably gonna get left in Hershey unless we have injuries.

I thought they looked pretty good.  They looked pretty fast in the first at least.  Maybe hard to tell depending on the opponent - lots of youngsters out there.  Curious as to why Mantha and Sheary playing but I guess they needed the skaters.  They trying to earn spots?  Nice to see both of them score though.  McMichael looked pretty good.  I thought Protus looked good - he's a big rig.  6'-6" oof.  Vincent Iorio (D) looked pretty good too and another big body, although he is only 19 so I'm sure he'll be elsewhere this season.
SO....the Caps website is lacking (shocker) - I tried to look up Protus and he is not listed on the Roster, nor is he listed with the players "in the system"?  google him and he pops up on the Caps page but no idea how you get to him FROM the Caps site

Seems like we have plenty Centers to test out....hopefully couple of them actually flourish into True 2C this season (ahem...paging Mr. McMichael)

Backy (out indefinitely....i.e. forever)
Kuzy 1C
Strome / McMichael / Snively / Lapierre /  Protus / Borgrstrom @ 2C
Eller 3C
Dowd 4C

I know we have a missing 1RW so some of these guys may fill in there, but I also assume Connor Brown (RW) will fit in there ....hopefully.

Nice to see hockey again.

And FFS - do we have to start the season with Mick and my Sister again?.

Did we even touch the puck in OT (other than where it bounced off the goalie and went in the net)

I was gettin worried as time ticked away..

I "think" they said something about a certain amount of veterans being mandatory for these games? I was watching a couple things at once though, so not positive.

preseason game number 2 is tonight at 7 in Pilly, I still don’t think it’s worth running a GDT for but I can

Hah!
Was just about to ask when the next one is.
Yeah, not much point doing a GDT, but thank you for offering.   8)

tonight’s game is supposed to be on the telly, preseason games 3 and 4 or not scheduled to be televised at this point

I will probably watch tonight to see Strome and Brown skate. Game 1 I had on but didn’t really watch.

Nice to see the new guys score.  I really don't know much about either of them.
I watched both games.  Feels a lot like a practice and the rink was downright quiet.  You could hear all the skates and all the pucks hitting sticks.  Not any crowd noise to speak of.
Who is going to skate 1RW spot?

at this point it looks like Brown might have the 1RW until Willy gets back

There are two games this weekend. Tonight at 7:30 in Detroit and Saturday at 7:00 in Columbus.
Both games are not televised but are on caps radio 24/7

Come game time I will look to see if the home team has a stream…

apparently tonight’s game in Detroit is being streamed at both redwings.com and caps.com

no word on the Columbus yet though I kinda expect the same
